The region
La Prèze is situated in the department of the Charente, close to the Dordogne and the Haute-Vienne (Limousin).
In this region you will find a lovely hilly scenery, speckled with small farms, lakes and woodland. Many small streams run through the region, as well as foothpaths and trails used by walkers and cyclists.
The climate is very pleasant: long and warm summers (but not excessively hot) and winters that normally are rather mild.
Here, you will find beautiful castles and other remains of passed centuries. Charming little towns like La Rochefoucauld, Piégut and Montbron have weekly markets.
You will need about an hour by car to get to the bigger cities like Angoulême, Limoges or Périgueux.

There are lots of places to stay near the Golf de La Prèze, just for a few days or for a longer period. In the first place: "Les Résidences du Golf. Some of the owners let their house. You can find more information on the site La Prèze Service.
Then there is le Chat: a quiet holiday village with a lake, a tennis court and a pool. The village is very near the golf.
Further: the gîtes, hotels et B&B-s. A few examples: Le Domaine des Etangs (in Massignac), L'Etanchon (in Ecuras), Le Beau (in Eymouthiers).
And of course the campsites: Camping de l'Etang and les Gorges du Chambon.
